In a recent magazine interview, Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) said she's a very feminine person and how she enjoys working on a set where she's surrounded by other women.
"I love being a woman!" she told Complete Woman (via Eva Longoria Web). "I'm a girly-girl. I love pedicures and manicures and dresses and heels. I definitely embrace womanhood." Longoria's said her favorite part of being a woman is girl power. "[The best part] would be the power we have over men, even though they don't know it. We really rule the world!"
Growing up in a household of women has made Longoria appreciate the mostly-female cast of Desperate Housewives. "I think that's why I like being around women and why I like being on a show with women. It's a dream come true to go to work. When I was on L.A. Dragnet, I had to go to work every day with all these men and I couldn't talk about girly things with them. They also couldn't care less if I was taking more time getting my hair and makeup done—they just really didn't understand it."
One woman in particular, her sister Lisa, is very important to Longoria. "She's intellectually disabled and she has the spirit of a young child. I think that's a beautiful thing. She's honest and truthful and pure. She sees the good in everything and everybody. Even though she has a handicap, she really thinks she can conquer the world and that's very inspiring for me."
