Online reviewers have weighed in on the latest Desperate Housewives episode.

Here's what they had to say about "My Husband, The Pig":

  • Annie Barrett at EW.com said that while she appreciated the focus on the men this week, she found the episode a "little flat", but did enjoy Carlos:

''Fish 'n' Chips,'' Carlos's apt nickname for Ian, was the line of the night for me. Whenever Carlos gets a lot of scenes, he steals the show. His interactions with ''crzydncr206'' were campy in the good way. (Was that a full-on escort service, by the way? Or something MySpace-esque? Eh, same diff.) And his heart-to-heart with Edie was probably the most poignant scene of the evening, just because her motherhood (or actually, anything that delves much deeper than the surface of her character) hasn't been discussed before. I'm not sure Carlos and Edie should pair up romantically, but I'm all about the increased closeness. Travers is pretty cute, too. Maybe he and Edie can get matching Uggs and sell houses together.

You can read her full analysis over at EW.com.

  • Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online said that Rex's narration was a "refreshing change of pace", and liked that Carlos got to show a more serious side of his character. "was also worthwhile to see Carlos's serious side throughout the hour, like when he had the sexually compulsive online date over and was more concerned with Edie's son Travers being alone outside. Speaking of showing a serious side, what a rare moment to see Edie so vulnerable, admitting to Carlos that she gave her ex-husband custody of their son because she didn't think she was a good enough mother. We can all agree that she was right about that—leaving Travers home alone while going on a date, even for an hour? No bueno."

  • Jen Creer at TV Squad also approved of the development for Carlos and Edie. "Carlos rocks; he just can't help be a decent guy. I felt bad for Edie when she brokenly, pragmatically said that for women, if we fail as mothers, we fail as human beings. To a very large extent in our society, that's true. I don't understand why Edie gave Charlie custody of Travers, but I do understand the impulse to give her child the best possible life. And Carlos was absolutely right to lay into her for leaving Travers alone at night while she went out and partied."

  • There is also brief recap at Television Without Pity, where visitors have so far rated it a B.
