Online reviewers have weighed in on the seventh episode of season three of Desperate Housewives.

Here's what they had to say about "Bang":

  • Lindsay Soll at EW.com was far from shocked by the show's events, and psoitive flippant over the death of Nora:

My condolences go out to all of you Susan haters (okay, I'll admit it, I was somewhat with you guys on this, too) who were hoping she'd be the one hit in the Great Supermarket Shooting of 2006. No such luck, but raise your hands if you think Nora was the perfect replacement. True, right before Nora had her last breath, we finally saw a human side to her when she said to Lynette, 'Kayla was the only good thing that I've ever done in my whole life.' Overall, this was a great episode—Nora's antics are over, there were no Mike cameos, and power mom Lynette is finally back in action!

You can read her full analysis over at EW.com.

  • Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online however was touched by her death. "Several of my coworkers had given me the big spoiler a few weeks ago regarding who was going to die, so I was already prepared for Nora's demise. What I wasn't prepared for was the feeling of sadness after she got shot. I was one of those 'Nora-haters,' so hearing that she was gonna bite the dust made me happy. But here I was tonight crying during her death scene! I really lost it when Nora told Lynette to please watch over Kayla, since she was 'the only good thing that I've ever done.' So I must throw Kiersten Warren into that powerhouse-acting category. Sure, we loved to hate the character of Nora, but making us feel sad during her death? That's the accomplishment of a great actress."

  • Jeff Commings at AZNightBuzz.com meanwhile sounded indifferent, and was more sad by the potential stories that were lost than Nora herself dying. "I'm sure a few out there will be dancing the happy dance because Carolyn shot Nora point blank in the chest. Yes, I didn’t like Nora. She grated on me worse than Kraft parmesan. But I thought her decision to move to Mexico with Kayla offered some interesting subplots. Now, that storyline is gone. The Scavo house just got a new girl, and I'm sure the boys will be confused but ready to initiate her into their tortuous ways."

  • But Jen Creer at TV Squad had nothing to say about Nora's death other than she didn't expect Nora to be the one that died. She did however think that the events would lead to some of Orson's secrets not being answered. "A lot of mysteries about Orson are dead now with poor, demented Caroline Bigsby. Her gun and her lunacy certainly suggest that she could be the one responsible for Alma's and Monique's deaths."

  • There is also brief recap at Television Without Pity, where visitors have so far rated it a A.
