  • There is a new article online that takes a look at Desperate Housewives and Lost and how the media hype could be damaging the shows. "The media and the gossip and the awards ceremonies. Everything revolving around these two shows is what is responsible for a small fraction of viewers to start going "Augh!" whenever they hear these titles even get mentioned. And despite what some may say, the hype may eventually start affecting the shows themselves. For example: should we start to worry that Desperate Housewives is nominated for Emmy Awards in the comedy categories, despite the fact that the show intrigues more than it humors? Let's hope the writers don't decide to take this as advice and start trying to inject more comedic moments into the series and essentially run it into the ground."

American mothers are too afraid of the cops or Social Services. I can't identify with the mother at all. And here, she'd have lots of help, and probably wouldn't have to give up her job."
