Following media reports of an angry outburst by Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) at a Vanity Fair photo shoot, ABC yesterday released a statement on the matter.

"This shoot simply did not go as planned," said ABC about the incident (via Chicago Sun-Times). "Because of this, our talent were made to deal as best they could with a situation not of their making. This one isolated incident does not define these women or their relationship."

Co-star Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) weighed in about some of the pressure faced by the stars. "They forget we just shot a 16-hour day the day before," she said, "and when someone's tweaking every little hair, it's like, 'Stop touching us—just shoot the picture.'"

Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), who was allegedly left "tearful" by the events, said it's important not to let off-screen incidents affect the on-screen chemistry. "I think that no one wants to damage that, and that will be our job, to come forward from this and figure out how to repair the damage," she said.

• Teri Hatcher has gone "against the Hollywood grain" in not hiring a publicist, reported contactmusic.com. "I feel like when you embrace that, you're sort of subconsciously saying you want to be part of this 'no comment' game that goes on. And I don't want to be," she said.

  Britney Spears reportedly wanted a role on Desperate Housewives but was turned down. James Denton (Mike Delfino) told contactmusic.com. "Britney Spears' people have been trying to get her on the show and I can promise you that will never happen. Everyone in Hollywood wants to be a guest star."

• Spears does have some friends on set though, it seems. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross have joined Spears' attacks the tabloid press, reported TeenHollywood.com. "I think we should totally unite and just ban those tabloid magazines," said Longoria.

• Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) has spoken about his real-life relationship with a woman nine years his senior. "Older women are awesome, because they know what they want. Flattery gets you everywhere with them. Older women love compliments. And what's cool is older women just want to get right to it," he told contactmusic.com.

• Eva Longoria, who just last week was rumored to be dating a basketball star, is this week rumored to be dating 24 star Butch Klien according to contactmusic.com.
