- timesunion.com's Stephanie Earls has been inspired by the story of Betty Applewhite's basement prisoner. "In typical Wisteria Lane fashion, Betty makes the management of a basement dweller—or, as we like to call them, a 'BD'—seem downright easy. The BD kicks up a racket; Betty plays her piano louder. Neighbors seem suspicious, so Betty blames the ruckus on her son." So Earls decided to investigate what it'd really take to keep someone in a basement, and delves into matters of food, exercise and hygiene requirements and more.
- Mediaweek reported on 'ad clutter' on the US TV schedule, and buyers are apparently blaming it for declining TV viewership. In particular it mentions Desperate Housewives which had 17 minutes of 'clutter' in two episodes this season, 12% more than the primetime average.
- Promotional images from "That's Good, That's Bad" are available online at Desperatefans.org.
- Chuck Barney detailed his experience of downloading Desperate Housewives to an iPod at Kanas City Star. One complaint he had was of how slowly the episode was available. "I awoke at 6:30 a.m., flicked on the computer and immediately went to the iTunes site, where I thought the show would be waiting," he wrote. "Two hours later, still no new episode. Thoroughly disgusted, I finally left for work without my Housewives. An Apple rep explained the next day means any time the next day. It showed up just before noon." Meanwhile Reuters reported that Apple's shares rose 5% on news that the company had sold a million videos (not just Housewives, of which specific numbers are not known) in less than a month.
- Eva Longoria Tribute has posted a video of Eva Longoria's (Gabrielle Solis) recent Dateline appearance. It's a chance to see the interview which was already transcripted at MSNBC.
- Media Life has praised Grey's Anatomy's ability to hold on to its audience, even when airing after a re-run of Desperate Housewives. Diego Vasquez pondered whether it's now time for ABC to move Grey's Anatomy to anchor its own evening, and place a new show after Housewives.
- SMRT-TV is providing commentaries for TV episodes detailing how they relate to the seven deadly sins. First up is pride, where D. Roberts Keenan uses season one's "Suspicious Minds" as the commentary's basis. The commentary is available as an MP3 file or as a podcast.
- A newly redesigned Desperate for Desperate Housewives has two season one DVD box sets up for grabs as part of its November Trivia Challenge.
- ABC has commissioned a pilot of a new sitcom which will be executive produced by Sir Elton John. Michael Edelstein, who is leaving his role of executive producer of Desperate Housewives later this season, will be joining Sir John on the project according to Softpedia. "I'm an adrenaline junkie, and I realized that what I really want to do is launch another show," Edelstein said back in September when he announced his departure.
- The Courier-Journal has published an article accusing Desperate Housewives of "struggling" in the ratings. However the report is very strange considering the show is #2 in total viewers and #1 in the 18–49 demographic. Furthermore the article accuses the show of being down 2 million viewers based upon last year, whereas based upon the most recent ratings the show is up almost 3 million viewers.
- An article at New York Daily News praised the Carlos and Gabrielle relationship, and compared them to another TV couple. "Whatever the precise lineup of couples at any given moment on Desperate Housewives, the most consistently interesting pair in the bunch remains the Solises, Gabrielle and Carlos. In several ways, Gabrielle and Carlos descend directly from one of the all-time top-10 TV couples, Ralph and Alice Kramden of The Honeymooners.
- Eva Longoria will be dropping in to visit Jay Leno on November 11, according to NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno website.
- ABC will air a Barbara Walters special "The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2005" on Thursday November 29 according to Zap2it, and Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer) is featured in the list along with the likes of Tom Cruise and Condoleeza Rice.
- Lois & Clark Archive posted a leaked video of Teri Hatcher preparing for an interview back when she worked on Lois and Clark.
- Eva Longoria Web posted screengrabs of Eva Longoria from "They Asked Me Why I Believe In You".
- Southern Voice Online has a report on the Out On Film festival, which will feature Felicity Huffman's Transamerica.
- India's Star One has bought the rights to show Desperate Housewives, reported Screen.
- JAM! alleged that Joey Buttafuoco is working on the Desperate Housewives set. He was a New York auto body shop owner in 1992 when his 17-year-old lover, Amy Fisher, shot his wife, Mary Jo. He was also allegedly charged with criminal offences last year.
- Journal Gazette has an article about in-season reruns, and mentions Desperate Housewives.
- Fashion Monitor Toronto has an article on the different diet techniques that the housewives would employ.
