Online reviewers have weighed in on ABC's latest Desperate Housewives.

Here's what they had to say about "Fear No More":

  • Ann Hodgman reviewing for EW.com pondered if "the bloom was off Wisteria Lane":

I have to say that last week's clip show was a great reminder of what innocents we all were when Desperate Housewives first aired. In the beginning, every detail seemed so fresh and amazing! I can remember yelping aloud when Susan got trapped naked outside her house, and I had to peek through the sleeve of a sweatshirt (which I was holding protectively up to my eyes) when Carlos came home early while John and Gabrielle were in bed together. But now I'm jaded [...] as we hurtle toward the season finale, I wish I still felt stunned by the show's momentum.

Hodgman also felt the characters were becoming more insular. "Except for Edie, each housewife seems increasingly to be walled up within her own family. What ever happened to their poker games?" You can read her full review over at EW.com.

  • Jeff, reviewing at Desperate for Desperate Housewives, was more positive however. "Tonight's episode was titled Fear No More but I have to admit that I was the fearful one, since I feared that tonight’s episode wouldn't live up to my expectations. The spoilers for Fear No More promised new developments in all the plots (well, minus Mike's plot) and also a big event in the form of a party. But my fears proved to be invalid, as tonight's episode might just have been the best one since February." It's Jeff's last review for the site, as due to a job change he's handing the site over to someone else. Over at the site you can read his full review, as well a short summary and scene-by-scene analysis.

  • Danny Spiegel writing for TV Guide Online talked about the tense moments of the episode. "The tensest moment was a toss-up. Paul not-so-subtly threatening Susan was certainly up there. I am so thankful though, that, in what may be a first in television history, someone actually pretended to just go along with a villain until they were out of harm's way. Susan screws up a lot of things, but actively avoiding a murderer isn't one of them. Her postexplosion decision to call a private investigator—coincidentally, the same one Paul used—ought to be interesting." You can read the full review here.

  • There is also a brief summary at Television Without Pity, where visitors have so far rated the episode A- in a poll.

  • Finally, to tide you over to the next new episode, there are two new episodes of Desperate Houseflies online, episode 25 and episode 26.
