Leslie Ann Warren (Susan's mother Sophie Bremmer) has told Marc Cherry that she is unlikely to be able to return to Desperate Housewives after landing a role in a pilot—and has already thought up a way for her character to die.
"If [In Plan Sight] sells, they don't let you do recurring roles on other shows—so Sophie will have to take a nosedive," she said, according to WENN. "I've been thinking about this. I went on this honeymoon with Bob Newhart, who plays my husband, and I thought, 'Maybe she'll have some hideous accident on her honeymoon!' Who knows with Sophie? Maybe they'll go and become moonies. She is such an indelible character, so it's not like you can have somebody else walk in and do it."
According to The Futon Critic, In Plan Sight is a USA Network drama project and is "about a no-nonsense female federal marshal who works in the witness protection branch of the government even though her friends and family are led to believe she is a glorified meter maid."
Roger Bart (George Williams) meanwhile has joined CBS's pilot My Ex-Life, according to Olberlin Times. The Futon Critic reported that it is a "comedy about a divorced couple who remain best friends and share custody of their kids" and the pilot is being directed by Frasier star Kelsey Grammer.
Finally, Page Kennedy—fired from Desperate Housewives for allegedly sexual impropriety, claims which he denies—has bounced back by landing a role in the WB's new comedy Pepper Dennis said a report at DailyIndia.com. The show currently airs on Tuesdays according to details at The Futon Critic it stars Rebecca Romijn "as Pepper Dennis, a beautiful and ambitious reporter with her sights set on anchoring Chicago's top-rated evening news broadcast."
