Susan Mayer's mother will be dropping in on Wisteria Lane. But Susan had better beware, because after an argument with her boyfriend she wants to move in!

Lesley Ann Warren will be arriving in "Children Will Listen" as Sophie Bremmer, Susan's "high maintenance" mother. In tow is her estranged boyfriend Morty, who will be played by Bob Newhart. But it's up to Susan to repair their relationship to prevent Sophie from moving in with her. "I'm looking forward to being involved with one of the hottest shows on TV," said Newhart in a statement Wednesday.

Both of the new guest cast members have TV careers spanning numerous decades. Warren's TV credits range from the 1960s' TV series Mission: Impossible, to more recently guest appearances in The Practice and Will & Grace. Her extensive film credits include Secretary. Newhart's TV appearances have ranged from The Dean Martin Show back in the 60s and his own show The Bob Newhart Show in 1972, to a couple of episodes of ER. Film credits include In & Out and Elf.

Newhart has reportedly signed on for a multi-episode stint, and while Warren has initially signed on for one episode she will probably appear in more. "Children Will Listen" will air in the US on April 10 2005.

Meanwhile, it seems the role of Sophie Bremmer was in demand. Screen legend Joan Collins apparantly wanted the role, according to the Sunday Mail.
