Felicity Huffman People Guide,
Eva Longoria People Guide A little too much of a good thing. That is the fear for some of the Desperate Housewives cast members when it comes to their new show.
"In the world of jobs I got the gold ring," Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) told the Quad-City Times. But she has found that half of her working week is now taken up by promoting the show. "It's the publicity that's the killer. There's always something ... and how do you say no to Diane Sawyer and Oprah [Winfrey]?"
Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) attributes much of the show's attention to good advertising from ABC when launching the show. "When that happens, you don't get lost in the shuffle," she explained. The situation is the complete opposite of Dragnet, the show she was in just a year before. "People didn't even know what timeslot we were in. I don't even remember what day we were on. We didn't exist."
For Longoria it's important for the cast to scale back on the publicity in the future, for the good of the show. "We feel a little overexposed right now. It's hard to cut back, though, when you get Vogue and Vanity Fair asking for you. This is a dream come true but we have to think of the longevity of the show. We don't want people to get sick of us so soon."
