After starring in the year's most popular new show and being nominated for every major TV award under the sun, you'd think that Felicity Huffmam wouldn't be able to leave her house without running into dozens of autograph hunters. But the Lynette Scavo actress revealed today it's actually the complete opposite.
"I'm never recognised in public," Huffman told Dave Mason of the Scripps Howard News Service (via FortWayne.com. "This job is great. It doesn’t get much better than this."
Huffman said that she is able to do her job so well because her husband William Macy takes care of her kids when she's filming the show. And her children are also welcome to visit their mom on the Wisteria Lane set - they've even played baseball there, and gotten into trouble for riding their bikes. "It’s actually great to be here," the actress said, who described Desperate Housewives as "more of a comedy than a drama. It’s heightened reality."
Reporter Mason also briefly talked with series creator Marc Cherry, who explained that he modeled the characters after the frustration and confusion he witnessed in his own mother. "But I felt if I wrote it well enough, I might be able to capture the truth of maybe many, many, many women. And so for me, that’s the biggest thing that’s been confirmed," he said. "Women are much more complicated creatures in terms of how they approach things."
