• In some extremely tragic news, the Associated Press Tuesday reported that the half-sister of Steven Culp (Rex van der Kamp) was murdered along with her husband and two children. Culp fan site Totally Steven now carries a message from Culp's publicist, and has also offered to forward any messages of sympathy to Culp that fans may want to send. Our condolences go out to the Culp family.

• According to NewKerala.com, the main DH quartet recently won Entertainment Tonight's Style Icon 2005 award, as they beat out stars such as Charlize Theron and Jessica Simpson to be chosen the best-dressed stars of 2005.

• Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) this week told the British Daily Star tabloid (via ContactMusic) that she once turned down free breast surgery. "I was offered a free operation. My own are very small but you know they have been with me through thick and thin."

• Only a short while after saying she was relieved her show Sex and the City never had to compete with Desperate Housewives, Sarah Jessica Parker was quoted on BreakingNews.ie as also saying DH owed some of its success to SATC. According to Parker, without her show TV executives might not have believed a show all about women could have been a hit. "I think HBO did a really clever thing, creating this standing date on Sunday nights at nine," she said. "I think that's really a lot what this is about. There was a show that was successful to a smaller degree. This idea of this standing date for women [was] brilliant and now I think they need to do Monday night."

• Right at the end of last year, PerezHilton.com's Quote of the Day was something said by Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) a few days earlier: "Why would people break up before Christmas? Get the gift, people! Get the gift!"

• And poor Eva was also the target of celebrity-defaming blog the Socialite Life, which published some rather unflattering photos of the DH star having breakfast.

• Meanwhile, the Smoking Gun last week posted the official citation handed to Longoria and her boyfriend Tony Parker following their alleged road rage incident.

• In related news, the New York Post reported Longoria plans to fight back against the citation by filing charges against the Texas traffic cop who ticketed her. Apparently, the actress feels his behavior at the time was improper.

• Fortunately, there's also some good news for Longoria and Parker. Speaking with ExtraTV, the actress revealed she will be starring in a music video for a song from her boyfriend's debut album. "[It's] a song he wrote for me," Longoria said.

• Rumors of new romance for Nicollette Sheridan (Edie Britt) persist: ContactMusic last week reported she followed up her recent romantic dinner with former flame Michael Bolton by joining him for his annual Hawaii vacation.
