Although there was some decline from last week, Desperate Housewives made another strong appearance for ABC.
According to figures released by MediaWeek, "You Could Drive a Person Crazy" scored a 18.4 rating with a 26 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 18.4% were tuned into DH, as well as 26% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm. The show pulled a 11.8/27 rating in the coveted 18–49 demographic.

With 26.71 million viewers, it was down from last week's 28.17 million viewers. But this is to be expected, as sampling for a season premiere on TV is normally above average levels due a high level of awareness about the show returning. Desperate Housewives lead-out Grey's Anatomy also continued to perform, with a 12.6/19 rating, 18.04 million viewers and 8.3/20 in the 18–49 demographic.
Housewives trounced NBC's Law and Order which mustered a 9.1/13 score, 12.00 million viwers and a 3.4/8 18–49 score. CBS ran its made for TV movie Mayday against Housewives, giving the network a 7.0/10 in the overnights, 10.32 million viewers and a 2.6/6 in the 18–49 demographic. Following behind them were Fox with Family Guy and American Dad and the WB with a repeat of Blue Collar TV. Overall ABC beat CBS by 4.96 million viewers and Fox by 51 percent among adults 18–49 to win the night.
