Cody Kasch, the troubled Zach Young, has landed a role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Fresh from gun- and hockey stick–wielding in Desperate Housewives, Kasch will guest star on the show as a white supremacist, according to TV Guide. Set to appear in the eighth episode of the season, which should air on NBC in November, his character is out to recruit teens to his cause.
Kasch is no stranger to guest roles in television, a number of which have a legal bent to them. Appearances include roles on shows such as Boomtown, NYPD Blue, Boston Public and The Practice. Kasch also recently had experience with the law outside of acting, after he was arrested for doing drugs (story). However he was let off as long as he stayed out of trouble (story).
First airing in 1999, L & O: SVU is set in New York and focuses on a force of elite detectives, the Special Victims Unit, which investigates and prosecutes various sexually oriented crimes. It is the first of three spin-offs from the original Law and Order, which premired in 1990 and is still on the air.
Meanwhile, when it comes to law and order, Wisteria Lane isn't without its troubles, what with shootings, murders and arrests all in the first season. But creator Marc Cherry said that he wants to calm the show down in its second year. "My hope is that we can continue to examine not just the big stuff but the small everyday stuff," he said, "that I think is so interesting and fascinating about women's lives. We've taken things to such operatic proportions toward the end of the year, it will be nice to reset and settle down a little bit."
