• TV columnist Susan Reinhardt recently became the latest in a long line of critics disenchanted with the second season of Desperate Housewives. "Is it me, or is the hot hit show Desperate Housewives getting, wel, more desperate?," she wrote in the Springfield News-Leader. "Last season, I eagerly awaited Sunday nights, hungry for the mysteries and revelations, the capers occurring on Wisteria Lane. This year things seem overdone."

• Last Monday, Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer) and James Denton (Mike Delfino) were the celebrity commentators at ABC's telecast of the 117th Rose Parade.

• Nicollette Sheridan (Edie Britt) may soon be appearing in a series of advertisements for lingerie brand Ultimo, according to Asia1.com. According to a source for the site, the underwear company likes "the fact she is very sexy without being too skinny and that she is famous all round the world."

• Country music fans will soon be able to enjoy a DH-themed music video by girl group SheDAISY, who recently spent a day filming a video for their song "God Bless the American Housewife" on the Wisteria Lane lot. Country Weekly recently published a report on the shooting of the video; the actual song can be heard on the Desperate Housewives soundtrack CD.

• According to the New Zealand Herald, Desperate Housewives is to blame for one of the ten entertainment phenomena of 2005: the re-emergence of the couch potato.
