Desperate Housewives held strong in its second week of season three, and was the highest rated show for Sunday evening, but CBS edged out ABC to win the evening overall. But ABC was still top in the 18–49 category.
According to figures released by Zap2it, "It Takes TWo" scored a 13.2 rating with a 20 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 13.2% were tuned into DH, as well as 20% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm.
These numbers were down from last week's 14.6/21, but it faced increased competition from NBC which scored 10.2/15 for its Sunday Night Football. CBS was third in the hour, with Fox and the CW trailing behind them.
Overall for the evening CBS won thanks to a late-ending NFL game. Its 9.5/15 narrowly beat ABC's 9.2/15. But ABC did have slightly more viewers, with 14.72 million compared to CBS's 14.67 million, and in the all-important 18–49 demographic ABC's 5.6 bested NBC's 4.9.
New Housewives lead-out Brothers & Sisters came second in the 10pm hour again, with its 9.1/15 rating trailing Without a Trace's 9.1/15 on CBS.
Meanwhile in other ABC news The Nine premieres on Wednesday at 10pm, and TV Gal at Zap2it is excited. "Kim Raver, Scott Wolf and Tim Daly are among the people held hostage during a bank robbery. What makes this show so unique, is that the entire season will unfold to show us what happened during the 52-hour hostage crisis ... five stars."
