ABC has released the first footage of the upcoming "There Won't Be Trumpets".

The video clip, for the episode that will air on April 3 2005 at 9pm on ABC, has been posted at the official Desperate Housewives website. For those with slower connections, here's a transcript:

SUSAN SEES MIKE WALKING UP HER PATH
In her kitchen she ducks to avoid him, and crawls to the door.

Mike: Susan? You home? (He's knocking on the door.) Susan, your car's here, so I know you're in there. I was... I was hoping we could talk for a minute. (Mike pushes an envelope under the door, which Susan picks up.)
Mike: Susan maybe you should have waited 'til I left to do that.

Carlos: Babe, they blinked. We've got them by the short hairs.
Gabrielle: Who, who blinked?
Carlos: The D.A. I just spoke with the lawyers—they offered to plea bargain.
Gabrielle: And that's... good?
Carlos: It means they know they've got a weak case. They don't think they can win. It's over.
Gabrielle: Oh my god, that means we can keep the house!
Carlos: No, we still have to sell the house. I gotta pay the lawyers.
Gabrielle: Put me down.

Susan: Bill asked me out.
Edie: Bill, my Bill?
Susan: Well, see, that's the thing. He doesn't think of himself as your Bill, 'cause he said that date was just a one time thing. Which I know because when he asked me out I told him I thought you guys were involved.
Edie: So you haven't agreed to go out with him?
Susan: No! No, I wanted to check with your first.
Edie: Well, that's nice of you.
Susan: So can I?
Edie: No.
Susan: (Edie starts jogging again, and Susan follows.) Edie! Edie, why can't I go out with him?
Edie: (Edie stops again.) Because I saw him first.
Susan: Come on, that's a realy third grade thing to say.
Edie: Look, you asked my permission I said no; that should be the end of it.
Susan: (Again Edie starts running.) Well technically I don't need your permission.
Edie: (Edie stops and returns to face off with Susan.) You know I so much wanna like you, but you just won't let me.
Susan: Edie...
Edie: Susan, you know I try. I try to look past your flaws, your clutzyness, that... that full vulnerability. Your hair! But you look for ways to push my buttons.
Susan: He just wants to buy me a berito.
Edie: Susan, please. Let me like you.
