Online reviewers have weighed in on the sixth episode of season three of Desperate Housewives.

Here's what they had to say about "Sweetheart, I Have to Confess":

  • Lindsay Soll at EW.com said loved the alcohol-fueled female bonding of the episode:

Lynette, Susan, and Gabrielle's delicious margarita marathon definitely saved the episode. I love me some female bonding on this show, but it's often been too forced and formal. So I'm with Gaby: ''Tequila makes me happy.'' It let me get some hearty laughs out of Lynette spilling her entire drink on the floor with no remorse and Gaby inexplicably pelting Lynette with chunks of lime after paying her a compliment. I'm much more likely to respond to subtle physical comedy among the ladies than to overrehearsed, quippy little platitudes about love 'n' life. I say bring on the booze more often (as long as recovering alcoholic Bree has other plans that night).

You can read her full analysis over at EW.com.

  • Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online agreed. "I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's confession-themed episode, as did my roommate Jason, who referred to the Lynette-Susan-Gaby-getting-drunk-on-the-porch scene as one of the all-time funniest and well-written scenes, and I agree. Just that scene alone had highlights galore, like Lynette confessing her innermost feelings about Tom: 'I want him to have what he wants—if it's what I want. I'm a bitch with a capital C.'" Earlier, Gaby's line had us rewinding to watch it again: 'I'm just gonna say it. Tequila makes me happy!'."

  • But Jen Creer at TV Squad had another favorite scene. "The most kicking-ass part of last night's epidode for me was the confrontation between Lynette and Nora. Finally, we get to the bottom of Nora's manipulation. When Lynette kicks in Nora's front door and says 'Ding dong' I almost died and went to TV Heaven. Loved it. And even if that entire scene was totally ripped from Kill Bill (complete with the little girl coming in to ask what was going on), I still loved it."

  • Jeff Commings at AZNightBuzz.com said he felt the scenes with Nora were some of Lynette's best. "She threatened Nora with a spinal beating if she comes within a block of her home. Amazing how Felicity Huffman can turn around to Kayla with that housewife face and remind the girl to bring her swimsuit next weekend. Classic Lynette. I think I already recommended a previous episode for Felicity's Emmy submission, but this one was her best yet."

  • There is also brief recap at Television Without Pity, where visitors have so far rated it a A-.
